Maintenance
The motor requires no maintenance. It is equipped with a magnetic field drive technology and there is no friction inside the motor, thus no wear.

Installation
The motor can be installed on most bicycles, simply by replacing the rear wheel of your bicycle with the BionX wheel and wheel motor.

The BionX system can be installed on a tandem, folding bike, recumbent or 24-speed bicycle. It is also available for disc-brake bicycles on special order.

The battery is an important element for the autonomy and the weight of the bicycle. It is for this reason that Bionx utilizes an NMH battery (nickel metal hydride). The battery makes it possible to have an excellent autonomy without adding too much weight to the bicycle.

Charging
The system includes an NMH battery charger. The battery can be charged in approximately 3 hours, whether it is empty or not. The charger detects the end of the charging process and stops as soon as the battery is at full capacity. The indicator light indicates when the charge cycle is complete.

Your battery can also be recharged when going downhill or braking.

Installation
The battery is installed on the lower frame using the water bottle mount. This technology allows installation or removal of the battery in 5 seconds.

It is also possible to install the battery on the rear bicycle rack.

Assistance: Controls the 4 assistance levels.
The analog display, indicates the power supplied by the battery.

Generative: Controls the 4 generative settings.
The analog display indicates the energy transmitted to the battery. The console includes a multifunctional odometer that displays the following information:

• current speed
• distance travelled
• odometer
• trip meter
• average speed

The control console includes a battery charge indicator that helps you manage the battery charge in order to prevent running out of energy on the return trip.
The console also includes an alarm system with a 4-digit PIN (personal identification number). When the alarm system is activated, two wheel turns are enough to set it off. From that moment, the motor goes into generative mode 4 and the alarm sounds.
The bicycle’s maximum speed is programmable. It can be adapted to the local regulations of any country.
