Locally manufactured Trimuter and BigWheel are Greenspeed clones fashioned from the GTR fixed frame commuter/touring model.

Both Trimuter with 20” wheels all round and the BigWheel with 20” front and 26” rear wheels are manufactured and assembled right here in Illinois.

The frames are fabricated by Jim Doyle of Doyle Recumbents, also a fabricator of steel aircraft fuselages and sub-assemblies. Frames are made of 4130 cromoly aircraft tubing assuring high strength to weight ratio and excellent durability. Cromoly tubing has nearly three times the tensile strength of aluminum and much better fatigue life.

The frames are powder coated by a local paint shop and assembly, testing and crating is done by me personally. The trikes are shipped fully assembled and ready to ride.

The componentry used is nearly the best Shimano has to offer and all the useful accessories you might want, bottle cages, fenders all round, wireless computer, Speedplay Frog clipless pedals, rear rack, two mirrors and a headlight and tail light are inclusive in the price.

The drive train offers a wide gear inch range for easy climbs and fast cruising on the flats. The rear hub is a SRAM dual drive with 3 internal gears and an 11-34, 9sp cassette. A Shimano 105 triple chain ring 52-42-30 is used up front. This combination offers a 12-130 gear inch range for the Trimuter and a 20-147 gear inch range for the BigWheel.

Two styles of brake systems are offered. The mechanical drum brake is economical, efficient and nearly maintenance free. The Avid mechanical disc brake offers improved braking and easy adjustability. Both systems come with the park brake handles.

For those needing a little assistance on long climbs or just a little help getting home , We offer the Bionx electric assist for the Trimuter and BigWheel. We can install nearly any Bionx system from the 24v NiMH to the 500w Li-Ion . We suggest the 350w Li-Ion system for its combination of strength and light weight. All Bionx systems offer their unique control console that can be programmed to add power automatically or manually and also has regenerative braking.
